Corrupted Testament

This ragged New Testament was used to wrestle hundreds of believers from the grips of Satan while in the hands of a New York-based deliverance minister in the early 1800s. The book saw so many battles with evil that the foreheads of the oppressed have left a clearly visible sweat stain in the leather binding.

For years the rural minister waged spiritual warfare on unclean spirits until demonic possession struck too close to home. When faced with the deliverance of a family member, the war was lost, and the possession final. After the battle, the minister remained bedridden until death.

Since that day, the New Testament has been kept locked away by its owners, descendants of the minister, who believe the book to be corrupted. Citing lingering sulfuric odors, insect infestations, and an overwhelming feeling of unease, the Corrupted Testament was donated to the Traveling Museum of the Paranormal & Occult under the condition that it be surrounded by religious iconography when stored.

Those who've held the book have reported experiencing strange phenomena ranging from temporary dissociative episodes, to full-body trembling, to the sensation of being observed by an unseen entity. Our own investigations have yielded high electromagnetic fluctuations and apparent self-movement.
