Ritual Sword / Cord Cutter

Donated to the Newkirk museum collection by a concerned father, this broadsword was allegedly used in occult rituals and is believed to be haunted.

During a museum exhibition at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, a young girl picked up the sword and immediately experienced a dissociative episode during which she claimed to be “possessed” by the sword and threatened other attendees. While in the trance the girl muttered about being unable to release her grip until she “spilled blood” with the blade.

The piece has since been cleansed with a runic binding, but remains on the “do not touch” list. It’s a sword, after all.
